Saturday Morning D&D
Humans are considered the youngest of the common races as they have the shortest lifespans of them all. Because of this they strive to achieve as much as they can in their short lived lives. They feel they need to prove to the elder races that they are capable of great things. This had lead to the formation of great nations, vast armies and the foundations of conquest and trade.
With their lust for migration and conquest, humans are more physically diverse than other common races. There is no typical human. An individual can stand just under 5ft to just over 6ft, and weigh from 125 to 250 pounds. Their skin can range from nearly black to ivory white and hair colors from black to blonde (curly, kinky or straight).
Humans are the most adaptable and ambitious people among the common races. They have widely varying tastes, morals and customs in the many different lands where they have settled. When they settle however, they change the land, build great kingdoms that can persist for many centuries.
Humans live in the present, making them great adventurers, however they tent to plan for the future so that they may live great legacy’s. Unlike other cultures that pass down customs within song and family rituals, humans have embedded their culture into temples, governments, libraries and codes of law so that they can fix their traditions to the bedrock of society.
While most humans of the cities are inviting of all the races and quick to accept new races into society, there are the isolated settlement that have devolved into Xenophobia and racism. Humans tend to have a deep seeded belief that they are better than the other races due to how much they accomplish in their lives. This tends to stem from a feeling of inadequacy based on their short life span.
